Thames Valley District School Board, in partnership with Thames Valley Parent Involvement Committee and the Thames Valley Council of Home and School Associations, is proud to invite parents, guardians and family members to a live-streamed event featuring Dr. Debbie Pushor, an international speaker on parent engagement, on May 21, 2020. The live stream event is called Learning at Home During a Crisis: The Role of the Parent/Guardian. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. and can be accessed directly from the TVDSB website at www.tvdsb.ca/ParentEngagement.

During the event, Dr. Pushor will discuss:

  • the difference between home schooling and learning at home;
  • schooling as only one part of a child's education;
  • what authentic and meaningful parent engagement is;
  • ideas for engaging your children (from Early Years through to Secondary School); and
  • ensuring that everyone is strengthened during these times.

After the presentation, Dr. Pushor will also be available to answer questions from participants through the on-line chat.
